The Basic Of Healthy Eating
Health is the greatest wealth and this is one thing that everyone agreed to. In order to keep our health in best shape, we need to understand that there are many factors that contribute to our health such as the food we eat the kind of activity we do and also the environment surrounds us. Food affects our health greatly. Food can act as poison or it can act as medicine. That is why, in order to get the best health benefit from the food we consume, we need to know the basic of healthy eating.

The basic of healthy eating is simple, and that is to consume everything in moderate. Nothing good will come from consuming something too little or too much. Eating moderately means that we need to consume everything in the right portion. Certain type of nutrients is needed in big volume while other was needed only in small amount.

Healthy eating should consist the basic type of food and they are:
  • Carbohydrate. 
Carbohydrate is the source of energy that people use for their daily activity. People can get it from rice, wheat, corn, oat and barley.
  • Protein. 
Protein is needed as the building block of human body. Protein will help in growth process and to maintain muscle tissue. People can get it from various source, whether it was animal based or plant based, such as meat, egg, Tempe and tofu.
  • Fiber. 
Fiber is highly needed for digestion system. Fruit and vegetables are the best source of fiber and people need to consume it at least 5 portions a day.
  • Vitamin and mineral. 
Vitamin and mineral such as Vitamin A, B, C, D, E, zinc and iron is highly needed to make sure that every part of human body perform its duty without any trouble at all. People only need to consume small amount of vitamin and mineral every day, but they it nevertheless.
  • Fat. 
Human body needs fat in small amount only. It can help the absorption process of several type of vitamin (A, D, E, K) and it also play important role in human body. People need to consume healthy fat that comes from good source such as avocado, olive oil and coconut oil.

Based on the healthy eating planner, people need to consume fill their plate with ¼ of carbohydrate, ½ of protein and ½ of vegetables to fulfill their daily nutritional need. This is the basic of healthy eating that people should know about before they embark the journey to a healthier life.
